It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more firms — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be much more fun…and not as stressful.
I’d wager that BetOnline wishes they did. They’ve made decisions a few years ago that’s probably cost them tens of thousands , hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, due to lost business from bad PR.
We are going to be sharing some examples of these with you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly suggest BetOnline to our visitors — and feel that now they are a trusted and legit gambling company — we think you have the right to know the whole story before deciding to play with here.

First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do Exactly?
What exactly did BetOnline do to create a lot of people mad?
We think that a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions spans the spectrum of shady behavior, which range from telling enjoys to withholding cash to getting shoddy security.
There are loads of examples we could show you. However, has already done the work for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can see for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here’s our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
When BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they whined about what system it was around. They first claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, even though they were actually on the Action Poker Network. There were stories about how they had been about the Chico Poker Network, but were kicked away.
Afterwards reports (from BetOnline) indicated that things were fine and fixed, which BetOnline was (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to enjoy, eh? (Although we might lie too if we had been on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a bad way to advertise a new product. It doesn’t instill confidence. Plus it makes you wonderwhy would they lie about something so trivial in the first location?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of customers. The reasoning was almost always because the client supposedly cheated, although no proof was provided from BetOnline (in the cases we’ve read).
One example that caught our eye was of a pro who had 60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him all his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories which revealed him cheating (for proof).
He got them . What he did get was vacant promises about the way they were on the way, and also the runaround when they never showed up. They eventually told him they could not send him the hand histories since the files were too large.
(Anyone who knows anything regarding online poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files into your computer — knows what a crock that is. And, why wouldn’t you send proof someone cheated in case you do not have anything to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and assisted the participant get his cash back. His final update mentions being alleviated about how it worked out for him personally but also stated the same thing happened to his buddy.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the player didn’t something wrong — he chip-dumped to his buddy. But here is the kicker:
He chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which nobody else could be hurt. He did it so his friend might have an extra $50 to play at BetOnline.
The humorous part is they were playing from precisely the same house at the time. Most sites would not even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at the exact same table — but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most websites would’ve caught it much sooner), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What IS however, is the way they needed to also take his 37,000 he earned because that incident.
Forum members indicated that many legit websites would never have allowed two individuals from the same IP to sit at precisely the exact same table. And, if they did, the moment they suspected chip dumping had happened, the player’s account would come under review. He would never have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
However, now that he did, BetOnline desired it. Buttechnically, the money should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s actions (that wasn’t any one). So it is ridiculous BetOnline thinks they should have the ability to retain it.
BetOnline Knows Your Passwords
The previous example we wish to talk about is an instance where a BetOnline rep outed how the employees understood their customer’s passwords and login amounts. You can see the live chat log in here.
The first poster has a good point. If everyone in the business has access to your login information, what’s stopping them from running a VPN, logging into accounts and taking your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a good answer, only a»ha ha ok sir.»
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’re going to see even more examples. It’s ridiculous.
What is even more absurd is how these instances are a drop in the bucket in comparison with the sheer number of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for»BetOnline scams» will also keep you occupied.
Then BetOnline Does Something Funny: Why They Acquire
During the same time BetOnline was struggling, was struggling to. They were struggling to cover their customers.
Thent a few months after a story broke — BetOnline acquired
The crazy part wasn’t so much the acquisition, it was the fact that BetOnline also agreed to be on the hook for all the current and previous payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most of all, the new investment group is committed for winners compensated in a more expedited manner.
«The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee future and past payouts from,» the rep said. «But as there’s a sizeable backlog of pending payouts, they have to be run through different fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. When the backlog is complete, clients will experience radically enhanced payouts thanks in part to updated payment choices, such as same day choices.»
Nobody knows exactly how much BetOnline needed to make in previous payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly»shocked» to find more than $1.5 million in obligations that wasn’t reported by the previous management. I think it would be safe to presume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid off it.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Frankly, we have had a hard time finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the last year or so.
There are some complaints; normal stuff all businesses face that we’ll address in the future in our inspection when it is logical. But it appears to us like the majority of BetOnline’s issues are over.
They have satisfied customers, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what exactly does this mean to you? Should you forgive and forget? Are they safe enough for one to join, make a deposit and playwith? We’ll be honest — there is no way we would’ve played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we had known or heard about any of the reports above. No one in their right mind could. You’d be safer light your money on fire.
And we also don’t want to downplay the errors they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software is not to be taken lightly.
However, as purchasing and incorporating new management to oversee operations, things have improved radically. So much so we’re comfortable now recommending them to our readers.
And it is not just us. When you look at other BetOnline reviews, then you will see similar thought processes. Typically the reviewers condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing there, only to have a change of heart when they saw how much BetOnline changed.
So, here is where we stand on the issue —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from a perfect sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the latest of which we highlight in our review below.
However, as best as we could tell, they have righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they offer to players. So we feel safe having accounts here.
It is your responsibility to decide if you are feeling the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
Together with their past out of the way, let us jump into what is important now — and that’s what BetOnline provides concerning banking, betting options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline delivers a solid selection of banking choices. But you’ll want to keep in mind that what’s available for you will be determined by where you live.
Let us begin with their deposit options.
Deposit Options
Here are the payment procedures BetOnline accepts and the min/max limits for each:
Visa (Person to Person)
$50/$700 Visa
$50/$5,000 MasterCard
Master Card
$50/$5,000 Person2Person
Person to Person
$50/$900 — BetOnline covers some fees over $300. Money Orders
Money Orders
$300/$9,000 Bitcoin
$20/$3,500 Skrill
$10/no max Neteller
$10/no Maximum Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/no max Bank Wire
Bank Wire
$1,000/no max Check
Assess $1,500/$24,900 Diner’s Club
Diners Club
$50/$1,000 JCB
The biggest complaint about deposits would be their 6 percent fees for debit and credit cards. They’re one of the only websites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among the other kinds, charging 4.9%.
Cash Outs
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, you can utilize:
Person to Person
$50/$500 — Can take 12-36 hours. Prices will run $26-$101. Bank Wire
Bank Wire
$500/$24,900 — May take up to 10 days. Prices will run $45-$75. ATM
ATM Only Card
$100/$2,500. Check By Mail
Check by Mail, Courier or Express
$500/$2,500 — Depending on which option you choose, this can take 7-30 days and will cost you $25-$50 NOT INCLUDING the fees your bank may charge. Bitcoin
$20/$5,000 — Will charge you 2% (of the total). Skrill
$25/$9,900 — Requires up to 36 hours. Only 3 requests allowed a week. Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/$15,000 — Transfers are completed within 24 hours. Neteller
$25/$9,900 — Takes up to 36 hours and will cost you $20. Only 3 payouts allowed per week.
What I do not like is how you’ll pay a commission for every single banking option. Even bitcoin, which is typically free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to cover a 2% commission.
Nevertheless, I have seen firsthand reports from clients who say they have received payments within 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is fast considering they are from the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it on their site, but I have seen reports which indicate BetOnline provides you a $50 charge every month if you place in your request on a Friday. In many cases this will not cover the entire fee, but it’s far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Would You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an»all in one» business. This means that you can bet on sports, play poker and casino games.
Their longest reputation, and probably most popular product, is their sportsbook. So let us start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and financing.
Within their sportsbook they more or less pay the most popular sports in the US. Those include:
Automobile racing
Soccer Golf
Martial arts
Soccer Tennis
You can also wager on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Formula One
Pro Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Soccer 1 option they have added recently is eSports. It’s no surprise really, given how fast that business is growing. Each bookmaker is leaping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the greatest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, also, though it looks as though they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — that they only have moneyline odds for a single match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who’s covering 5+ games across about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a big difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports gambling?
That being said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they’re still attempting to find their bearings in this developing market. Maybe they have plans to enlarge their eSports options in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is that their odds on the match-up I am comparing to Bovada. They are offering marginally better pricing for the same exact match.
There is no way to tell if that’s going to be the case, nor will it matter whether they never enlarge this section of the sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on these.
They provide live betting also. These options change constantly, of course, to match with what events or games are going on. When I last looked they had lines for football, tennis and baseball. You might also keep track of a few of games concurrently utilizing their multi-event tab and plan for future games using their live betting calendar.
One thing they’re known for are the higher-than-average betting limitations. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will max out at between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. It is also possible to increase your wagering levels by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a fair variety of promotions, and much more than you’ll see in their racebook and financials section combined. Some of the better options include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your first deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — create a wager and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a list of races in their main page. Each record tells you the number of spacious races there are, which when you click on it will expand to show you the horses, races, jockeys and odds.
If you’re unfamiliar with their site or horse betting, a fantastic section to search through is that their racebook info tab in their own navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their monitor limitations. This tells you the maximum you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Discover how much you’ll make if your wager (s) win.Their principles and the types of bets you can make.Horse betting hints, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It’s a fantastic section if you are new to horse betting.
And that is about it. This segment is far more compact than their sportsbook.
That said, their racebook does have a couple offers also, though nowhere near the caliber or volume their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily without a min volume or caps on how much you can make. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a bet for the very first time in the racebook. If you lose BetOnline will reimburse you up to $25.
Last up is their financials section. Here you can bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include signature, range, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets it is possible to bet on will depend on your bet type.
This segment looks to be an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the focus or advertising BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is among the most popular alternatives for Americans. They’re a part of this Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in total traffic rankings, but is 3rd for US poker websites. When I last checked they had around 2,100 players on their site.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software upgrade. In the past they had many complaints about the quality of their applications. This included complaints about blurry graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But after their upgrade we have seen suggestions they may have some of the greatest software in america marketplace.
From worst to best in 1 upgrade? That might be pushing it. But in line with the pictures I’ve seen, their applications DOES look much better.
But, there are still several places BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have some options for mobile players, and that we believe is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It would be wonderful to see more game choices.
In general, however, it’s wonderful to see they’re making improvements and are getting more competitive with what other high tier US poker sites offer.
Speaking of which, some of the poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They pay this out to you $5 at one time. You will have 60 days to clean the offer. $50,000 GTD — They are operating a $50,000 guarantee for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises greater than $90,000 in championship prize pools every single weekend.
They have a couple of leaderboard and cash race challenges, also.
And it’s not just a»bonus,» but the matches here should be milder because of the US traffic along with also the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Earning money from their poker tables should be simpler here compared to other poker (just ) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find a great deal of game choices which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from both Rival Gambling and BetSoft applications, each of which are famous for producing topnotch games. Here is the way their matches breakdown:

If you run into a problem or have a query, you can reach out to BetOnline using one of the following choices:
PHONE: 1-888-426-3661
FAX: 1-800-453-0804
LIVE CHAT (for actual money accounts only)
One thing to point out here are the accounts I have seen about the way BetOnline’s support is unfriendly.
One example came from a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was among the worst I have heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gambling the Odds:
Since BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high quality, I expected them to shine at customer services. How else could you explain the prevalence of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In fact, during their live chat service (and I just have to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my entire life up to now.
Following the live chat session began, I needed to wait a couple of minutes before the customer service person bothered to answer, not only completely ignoring my question but asking for my username and password as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your username and password to some live chat box? I sure did not.
I clarified that I do not want to input that information into a chat room and, what’s more, the query requires no such advice since it was about generally. I had to wait ten minutes for»assistance» (I use that word loosely here), while getting»Thanks for waiting. I’ll be with you in just a minute…» every now and then.
That said, I have also heard the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline says they offer excellent customer services. In addition, he says that your best choice is to benefit from their live chat (only available to account holders).
Their adventures are polar opposites. This suggests to people that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with how they handle customer care…an
